Winter Weather Advisory for Jan. 10, 2025
CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OBETZ EMERGENCY WEATHER ALERTS
A winter storm is forecast to begin this Friday, January 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. and continue until approximately 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Current predictions show a snowfall total of about 2.2 inches. While the amount of snow is not extreme, any accumulation over two inches can trigger our local winter weather emergency under City Ordinance 351.13.
What You Need to Do
- Remove Vehicles From Streets: To help our Public Works crews clear snow and ice efficiently, please move your vehicles off city streets before the storm arrives on Friday afternoon.
- Where to Park: You may park in your driveway, temporarily in a front yard, or in designated lots such as The Fortress, the OAC, or the OCC, subject to the rules of those lots.
- Check for Updates: We will post any emergency declarations or completion notices on our official City website, so please check back frequently.
Why It Matters
Removing cars from the street during a winter storm speeds up plowing and helps us keep roads safe for everyone, including emergency services. Vehicles left on the street may be subject to towing and impoundment, and all related fees are the owner’s responsibility.
Stay Informed
- Visit our website for real-time updates about the storm, emergency declarations, and when snow-clearing operations are finished.
- Please drive carefully if you must travel—roads may still be slippery until plowing is complete.
We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to keep our community safe and accessible during this winter weather event.
