City of Obetz Utility Payment Update
UPDATE – February 26, 2026
Utility payment services are back online.
What this means:
-
Payments made the evening of February 5 and the morning of February 6 are being held by our payment provider (BridgePay) and show as “Settled” while they finish reviewing them.
-
Auto-pay will NOT restart automatically. This is on purpose so we can make sure everything is correct first. BridgePay will contact anyone affected before turning recurring payments back on.
-
City systems are working normally.
-
We have requested official documentation from BridgePay about what was affected and will share updates when received.
We are monitoring the situation and will help fix any payments affected during the outage.
If you have questions, please contact our team at 614-491-1080 or by emailing dcarpenter@obetz.gov.
February 17, 2026
Online utility bill payments remain temporarily unavailable while we work with our third-party service provider to restore service. Thank you for your patience as we await confirmation that the system is fully operational.
In the meantime, utility payments can still be made using several methods:
- Residents may pay with cash, check, money order, debit card, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). Payments are accepted in person at the Administrative Building payment window Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- A secure drop box is also available in the front parking lot south of the pond near the Police Department entrance for after-hours payments.
- Residents may call our utility billing office at 614-491-7804 to make payments over the phone during business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
Because online payments are currently unavailable, water shutoffs will be temporarily delayed. Once the system is restored, we will notify residents when accounts must be brought current. While there is no need to panic, we strongly encourage customers to use the available payment options and make payments as soon as possible to avoid issues once normal processing resumes.
For questions regarding your utility bill, please contact Daniel Carpenter at 614-491-7804 or dcarpenter@obetz.gov.
Please note that RecDesk services are not affected, and sports registrations can continue as normal.
We will share an update as soon as online utility payments are fully restored. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
