Obetz Approves Sale of Land for New Fischer Homes Development
The Obetz City Council approved the sale of approximately 104.8 acres of City-owned property to Grand Communities, LLC, a Kentucky-based residential developer affiliated with Fischer Homes. The sale results in major new residential development at Buckstone, located across from Hamilton Local Schools, and represents a key step in the City’s long-term plan to promote balanced growth and housing diversity.
Fischer Homes has announced plans for a new residential community on the site that will feature a mix of paired patio homes and two collections of single-family homes, providing diverse housing options for families and residents at every stage of life.
“The development of this property will complement the ongoing commercial investment at Buckstone,” said Mayor Angela Kirk. “By encouraging high-quality residential growth alongside our expanding business districts, we’re creating a more vibrant and sustainable community for current and future residents.”
City leaders emphasized that the residential development will help support nearby businesses, and public facilities, while strengthening Obetz’s economic base.
The property sale – and subsequent development – are consistent with Obetz comprehensive vision for Buckstone, supporting the City’s goals of maintaining strong neighborhoods, economic vitality, and a high quality of life.
