Lane Restrictions Planned on Southbound Alum Creek Drive Bridge
The Franklin County Engineer’s Office has announced upcoming maintenance work on the southbound lanes of Alum Creek Drive over Big Walnut Creek that will temporarily impact traffic.
The project is scheduled to begin Monday, December 22, 2025, and will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for approximately two days, weather permitting. The work will occur on Alum Creek Drive just north of Bixby Road.
Crews from the Franklin County Engineer’s Office Bridge Department will be performing expansion joint repairs on the bridge. During construction, southbound traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one lane while work is underway.
Motorists traveling through the area should anticipate increased congestion and potential delays and are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, or seek alternate routes when possible.
Local safety forces, school districts, and surrounding jurisdictions—including the City of Obetz, Hamilton Township, Groveport, Madison Township, and the Rickenbacker Port Authority Fire Department—have been notified to ensure coordination and public safety during the project.
