As of 11:00pm on 12/13/25, roads in Obetz are plowed and passable, but remain dangerous due to extreme cold.

Temperatures are not expected to rise above 18°F until Monday afternoon. At these sustained temperatures, road salt is largely ineffective, and additional salting will not significantly improve traction or safety.

Residents should expect:

•   Icy and packed snow conditions to persist

•   Limited braking and turning ability

•   Higher risk on bridges, curves, and shaded areas

These conditions are weather-driven and will continue until temperatures rise enough for treatments to work. City crews will continue to monitor conditions and respond when weather allows meaningful improvement.

Please slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and avoid unnecessary travel.
