The City of Obetz is launching a fun and frosty community project—we’re naming one of our city snowplows, and we need your creative ideas! This is your chance to help give our hardworking snow-clearing fleet names that reflect Obetz’s personality, charm, and unique spirit.
Why Name Our Snowplows?
Our snowplows work tirelessly each winter to keep our roads safe, and they deserve names as cool as their job. From whimsical wordplay to heartfelt tributes, we’re looking for names that represent our community in a way that makes us all proud. We will be naming one Snowplow per year until we have named them all.

Suggest a Name:
Submit your ideas for the snowplow names by November 19, 2025. Let your creativity flow! Remember, we’re aiming for clever, fun, and family-friendly names that reflect Obetz’s identity. Silly or offensive names will not be considered—save the pirate ship monikers for another day! -
Vote on Your Favorites:
Once the submissions are in, city staff will compile the top contenders. The community will then get the chance to vote for their favorites in a second round. This is your chance to have the final say on what names roll into the spotlight!
The Final Decision:
The winning names will be determined through the combined results of the community vote and input from the Mayor and City Council. Mayor Kirk will announce the official snowplow names at the Christmas Kickoff and Parade on December 6, 2025. The winner who’s name is selected will win a prize pack from Obetz!
