Obetz Goes Red for American Heart Month

This February, the City of Obetz is proud to show its support for American Heart Month by lighting our municipal office red in recognition of the ongoing fight against heart disease. Heart disease remains the No. 1 killer of Americans, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women every year—more than all forms of cancer combined.

By illuminating our Administration Office in red, we stand alongside the American Heart Association (AHA) and communities nationwide to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and encourage heart-healthy habits.

Join Us in the Fight Against Heart Disease

American Heart Month officially begins Friday, February 1st, and we encourage residents, businesses, and community partners to get involved:

  • National Wear Red Day is on Friday, February 7th—a day to wear red in solidarity with those affected by heart disease.
  • If lighting your business or home red for the entire month isn’t possible, consider going red on February 6th and 7th to honor Wear Red Day Eve and Day.

Why It Matters

The Go Red for Women campaign, launched by the AHA in 2004, has been instrumental in driving awareness and change for thousands of mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, and friends impacted by heart disease. By participating in this initiative, we hope to spark conversations, encourage screenings, and inspire a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Get Involved

If you’re a business owner or resident in Obetz, we invite you to join us in this county-wide effort. Whether by lighting your home or business red, wearing red, or spreading the word on social media, your participation makes a difference.
