2024 Christmas Kickoff and Parade!
The City of Obetz is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated Christmas Kickoff and Parade! This year’s festivities promise even more holiday cheer with activities for all ages, live entertainment, and of course, a magical visit from Santa himself. We invite everyone to join us for this cherished community tradition on December 7, 2024. The event will take place at Junction Park, opening at 4:30 p.m., with the parade beginning at 5 p.m.
Junction Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with twinkling lights, festive decorations, and family-friendly activities. Streets surrounding the park will close at 5 p.m. to accommodate the parade, so we encourage everyone to arrive early for easy parking access and to experience the full lineup of events and be in position for Santa’s grand arrival at the end of the parade.
Event Highlights
Tree Lighting and Photos with Santa
As soon as the parade concludes, the Obetz Christmas tree will be lit, symbolizing the start of the holiday season. Families are invited to capture the magic with photos of Santa, a perfect keepsake for your holiday memories.
Holiday Activities Starting at 4:30 p.m.
Arriving early means you can make the most of all the seasonal activities Junction Park has to offer. Here’s a look at what’s in store:
- Rock on Ice – A unique experience with ice sculptures and live carving demonstrations.
- Character Meet and Greet – Get a photo with some of your favorite holiday characters!
- Ice Skating – Lace up your skates and enjoy a few laps on the ice rink (weather permitting).
- Letters to Santa – Little ones can write and send their Christmas wishes directly to the North Pole.
- Reindeer Food Making & Ornament Making – Get creative with seasonal crafts that kids can take home.
- Photo Opportunities and Concessions – Capture memories at photo stations around the park and enjoy seasonal treats.
- Kinfolk Coffeehouse – Sip on warm beverages provided by local favorite Kinfolk Coffeehouse.
