Welcome to a friendly competition and fishing fun day at the Dixon Quarry Pavilion! The City of Obetz is thrilled to host its annual Fishing Derby, an event cherished by our community’s anglers and nature enthusiasts.

Starting bright and early at 8:15 am, participants can check in and prepare for a morning of tranquil fishing. From 9 am to noon, the waters of the Dixon Quarry Pavilion will teem with activity as anglers of all ages cast their lines, seeking to land the longest trout and secure the coveted top prize. But don’t worry, there’s a special prize waiting for our runner-up too!

We encourage fair play and sportsmanship – remember, no chumming or nets are allowed. It’s all about the skill of the rod and reel here. And while trout may be the show’s star, we advocate for catch and release for all other fish. This approach provides endless fishing fun and helps preserve our aquatic ecosystem.
