The Obetz Black Card is a symbol of residency and is only valid while you are a resident of Obetz. To maintain the integrity of this program, we require residency verification every three years. The card is free and becomes part of the community’s fabric once you receive it. However, if you move out of Obetz, the card expires immediately. We also reserve the right to revoke the card for reasons including, but not limited to, misuse of the card, violation of facility rules, conduct issues, legal infractions, and outstanding debts to the city.

1. Visit https://cityofobetz.recdesk.com/Community/Home to create a household account.

2. Once your account is approved, you must apply for residency status. Click ‘MEMBERSHIPS’ on the homepage, then ‘PROOF OF RESIDENCY’ and follow the instructions.

3. Upload the required supporting documents for the household member you are applying for, sign all waivers (parent/legal guardian must sign for children under 18 years old), and submit.

2. Our staff will review your application(s) and issue your membership as soon as possible. Once you receive resident status, you can register online for programming and memberships at a discounted rate.

3. Once your account has been processed, you must stop by the Obetz Government Building at 4175 Alum Creek Drive during business hours to take your picture and pick up your physical card.

Adults: Driver’s License with an Obetz address, Obetz water bill in adult’s name, utility bill in adult’s name at an Obetz address, Marriage license linking spouse to resident household

Children: Birth Certificate linking child to resident parent, adoption papers relating child to resident parent, custody papers linking child to legal guardian, tax documents noting child’s legal address, School papers stating child’s legal address.

*Each person applying for a resident card must have their own proof of residency.
