Mark E. Daubenmier – Assistant Finance Director
Mark Daubenmier began employment with the Village of Obetz as a temporary, part-time employee in the Finance Department in January, 2014. When the Village was looking for an Assistant Finance Director, Mark’s experience and knowledge of municipal finance made him the perfect choice. In May, 2014 he was appointed to the position of Assistant Finance Director.
A graduate from Logan High School, Mark studied at Capital University and Ohio University before receiving an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Hocking College.
Mark began his governmental career working for the Hocking County Auditor. After eight years of service with the county, he accepted a position with the computer software firm MacDonald, Friedberg and Carr, where he provided support for various counties’ software applications, specifically for Hocking and Pike Counties. In February, 1990, Mark began a 22.5 year career with the Auditor of State of Ohio in the former Management Advisory Services section, which later was renamed Local Government Services (LGS). Some of the duties he performed with LGS included assisting local governments with bank reconciliations, financial forecasts and annual financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Mark also acted as the State appointed Financial Supervisor for various entities that were placed into fiscal watch or fiscal emergency by the State of Ohio. When Mark retired from the Auditor of State in August, 2011, he was the Assistant Chief Project Manager for the Southwest region for LGS, where his duties included project planning and staffing and reviewing nearly all GAAP reports and Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports prepared by his staff.
