Public Comment Open for Alum Creek Drive Widening Project
The Franklin County Engineer’s Office, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), is planning major improvements along Alum Creek Drive. The project will widen the road from four lanes to six between London-Groveport Road and Groveport Road and includes several upgrades to improve traffic flow, safety, and accessibility.
Key improvements include:
-
Replacing both existing bridges over Big Walnut Creek
-
Widened shoulders and upgraded lighting
-
A 10-foot shared use path on the east side
-
An 8-foot sidewalk on the west side
-
Transit facility enhancements and maintained signal operations
Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2028 and finish by Fall 2029, pending funding and final design. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction throughout most of the project to limit disruptions, and driveway access will remain open.
