Obetz Thanks Congressman Carey for $2.625 Million Funding for New Water Tower

OBETZ, OH – The City of Obetz is pleased to share that we have been identified to receive $2.625 million in federal funding to replace our aging water tower, pending final approval early next year. This funding, if approved, will support a critical infrastructure project to enhance the safety, reliability, and capacity of the city’s water system. Congressman Mike Carey has been instrumental in securing this potential funding through the Community Project Funding program.

The current water tower, built in 1981, is reaching the end of its operational life. A replacement tower would improve water quality and delivery efficiency for Obetz residents, significantly upgrading infrastructure and enhancing local fire protection services – a vital element of community safety.

“The replacement of our 43-year-old water tower is more than an infrastructure upgrade – it’s a commitment to the future of Obetz,” said Mayor Angela Kirk. “We are incredibly grateful to Congressman Carey for his dedication and efforts to secure this funding, which will help us serve our community, safeguard public health, and support sustainable growth.”

Congressman Carey has been a longstanding supporter of Obetz, frequently attending city events and maintaining a strong working relationship with Mayor Kirk and the City Council. His accessibility and responsiveness to the city’s needs have made a lasting impact, demonstrating his commitment to Obetz’s sustainable growth and safety.

“We were thrilled to help the City of Obetz secure this badly needed upgrade, which will help secure the safety and reliability of water in the community for years to come,” said Congressman Mike Carey. “Bringing federal funding back to the Fifteenth District is a top priority, and we look forward to continue advocating for this project during next year’s legislative session.”

The City of Obetz thanks Congressman Carey, as well as all stakeholders involved, for their commitment to this project and for supporting the future of our community.
