Stop the Spread of Germs

The Village of Obetz is joining Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) and the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) in encouraging residents to follow simple precautions to help prevent the spread of illnesses like coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

COVID-19 is a respiratory virus that is spread from person to person. The onset of symptoms typically begins between 2-14 days after exposure. 

According to the CDC, the following symptoms may appear after 2-14 days after exposure:

Fever
Cough
Shortness of Breath

COVID-19 is believed to be spread from person-to-person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person sneezes or coughs. The CDC and FCPH are encouraging people to:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay at home when your are sick.
Wash your hands with soap and warm water. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Cover your cough, sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently used objects and surfaces.
