Coronavirus Update from Mayor Kirk 3/22

March 22, 2020

Today, the State of Ohio issued a “Stay at Home” (until April 6, 2020) Order for all Ohioans.  I have linked that Order here for you.  All residents and resident employers should be following all guidelines and rules issued by the State and Federal governments. I have linked an explanation of the Order with FAQ’s here.  This is what the Stay at Home Order means in summary:

You must stay at home unless you are:
-Performing an Essential Activity–as defined in the Order;

-Participating in an Essential Government Function–as defined in the Order; or,

-Participating in Essential Businesses or Operations–as defined in the Order.

What should Obetz residents do?
-Please follow the rules from the State and Federal governments regarding the pandemic.

-Check with your employer to determine whether or not you must report for work.

What should Obetz Employers do?
-Review and comply with the State and Federal Orders regarding the pandemic.

What will Obetz do?
-I minimized the Village’s operations more than a week ago, so the Order will not change the level of service Obetz is currently providing.

-Obetz will enforce the orders from the State of Ohio just like it enforces other laws.

-Obetz will continue monitoring the pandemic and carefully act and react to the changes as they come.

-Obetz will work to keep you informed.

I understand that this is a trying time for all of us. Obetz is making every effort to protect your health; but, ultimately, only you can protect yourself and your families. Please take these restrictions seriously so that we may reduce the level of danger for our friends, families, and community.

I will keep you updated as the situation evolves.  Stay safe!
