Obetz Seniors awarded for 4th straight year

The Obetz seniors have donated the most each year for the last four years!

The seniors were once again recognized for their efforts. This year, the Mayor read a proclamation created to recognize the seniors for their great efforts, and they were awarded a lunch party! Thank you to the Mayor, Council, Obetz Police, Obetz staff, and members of the Franklin County Task Force on Aging for serving lunch to these well-deserving seniors!

LifeCare Alliance is a home and community based nonprofit health organization providing programs such as meals-on-wheels and visiting nurses.

One of the LifeCare Alliance programs is the Groceries to Go Food Pantry, and it supports people who are batting chronic illnesses. Every year, the Franklin County Task Force on Aging challenges all the senior centers in Franklin County to donate as many toiletry items as they can to this program. The drive spans over a few months, and the Obetz seniors have donated the most each year for the last four years.

This is a really spectacular feat. There are many senior centers in Central Ohio that participate in this drive that spans a few months. Considering our senior center is going up against cities that have centers with hundreds of active members, it shows just how special this group is!

LifeCare Alliance is Central Ohio’s premier Meals-on-Wheels provider for thirty years. They serve older adults and the medically challenged residents of Franklin, Madison, and Marion counties 365 days a year. In addition to Meals-on-Wheels, LifeCare Alliance provides nursing services, nurse practitioner, dietitians, wellness centers, community senior centers, dining centers, homemakers and home health aides.

Meals-on-Wheels
Columbus Cancer Clinic
Wellness Centers Project
